Community & Training

Teach it once, and it keeps going

Two training kits, three running challenges, a term-long school programme and a short video library — all designed so a facilitator with no technical background can run a session and leave something behind that works without us.

Training kits

Two kits, two audiences

Community Training Kit

Estates, community groups, collectors and volunteers

Everything a community facilitator needs to run a two-hour session that ends with households actually sorting.

Modules

  • Why sorting at source changes the outcome
  • The four colours, hands on
  • Hazardous waste — what never goes in a normal bag
  • Registering on the app, or by SMS if there is no smartphone
  • How eco-points convert into airtime and M-Pesa
  • Running your first collection day
Facilitator guide, printable posters, and a 12-slide deckGet the kit

Sustainable Fashion Education Kit

Schools, campuses, fashion students, tailors and designers

The textile side of the programme, taught rather than preached — built around what a garment costs before anyone wears it.

Modules

  • Where a garment comes from and what it costs to make
  • Reading a fabric label and a sustainability rating
  • The mitumba trade — the honest version
  • Repair before replace: five fixes anyone can learn
  • Upcycling as a business, not a hobby
  • Running a swap event at your school or campus
Lesson plans, fabric sample cards, and a swap-event playbookGet the kit

Eco-challenge hub

Competition, but collective

Challenges are scored at household, school, campus and estate level as well as individually — collective rankings move more behaviour than personal ones do.

Runs continuously

Awareness, education & mentorship

Mentorship & Youth Innovation

Capacity-building and sustainability dialogues that give young innovators something harder to provide than information: someone experienced to ask, a platform to be seen on, and resources to build with.

Co-hosted challenges and events

Sustainability challenges, campus fashion campaigns and public awareness events, run with partner institutions rather than at them.

Institutionalising the programme

Supporting institutions to make sustainability programmes and youth-led innovation permanent, so they survive the students who started them.

Working with local designers and industry

Collaboration with local designers and industries to promote transparency and circular design in practice, not in principle.

Mentorship, visibility and resources

Direct mentorship for creative and eco-conscious youth innovators, with visibility through the campaign channels and access to the resources they would otherwise lack.

Eco-Innovation Impact Showcase

A virtual showcase highlighting pilot successes and youth stories, where outstanding contributors — youth leaders, schools and tailors — are recognised with certificates and eco-kits.

Short videos

Ninety seconds beats a lecture

Deliberately short and low-resolution by default, so they load on a modest data bundle and can be watched at a training day with patchy signal.
